Sockeye – 2012

I spent six weeks in the summer of 2012 working on deck of a commercial salmon fishing boat in Naknek, Alaska. The ‘Gold Digger’ was an old wooden hulled gill netter that was built on the Columbia River in the 1960’s. I had always wanted to experience that fishery, and this opportunity – working for my good friend and captain of the ‘Digger Crosby Leveen (Deadliest Catch, Cowboys of the Sea) – really gave me a great up close and personal opportunity. We are currently developing tv and film ideas that will highlight that ecosystem and the fisherman that live off of it’s waters.
